The regular SATURDAY MORNING meeting of the Charlotte GNU/Linux Users Group is scheduled for the fourth Saturday of the month.

===============================================================
 The June meeting topics are in discussion on the mailing list. Please join in this discussion...
===============================================================

For April:
Our guest speaker was Dr. Richard Hipp. A Charlotte resident and past LUG speaker, Dr. Hipp  has developed many open source software solutions. Most notable is SQLite, the highly used, extremely fast, serverless SQL engine.

Kevin Jones drove in from Greenville,  SC, and gave the group a great overview of his project - Free Linux PC.

When: April 25, 2009
             10:00 AM to 3:00 PM

Where: Levine Building I

              Ground Floor Food Court (Follow signs to "Subway")
              Levine Campus - Central Piedmont Community College

For March:

When: March 28, 2009
             10:00 AM to 1:00 PM

Where: Levine Building I

              Ground Floor Food Court (Follow signs to "Subway")
              Levine Campus - Central Piedmont Community College

There was an open discussion about the future of the LUG, and of all things open..
 Attendance was, of course, mandatory...

We had a good crowd. Microsoft was having a big indoctrination ceremony nearby, but we managed to stay away from their free gimshaws and goodads...

Leam documented the meeting specifics, so refer to the mailing list for details. As always, if you have a question, ask...

We are a GNU/Linux User Group for folks of all levels of expertise...novice, hobbiest, somewhat experienced and professionally involved with GNU/Linux and the Free Software Foundation (FSF).  One of our primary goals at CharLUG is helping people become acquainted with GNU/Linux and FSF and helping them learn as they discover what a great operating system GNU/Linux really is.  If you have an interest in GNU/Linux and/or FSF and would like to help CharLUG continue to serve the GNU/Linux community, and the Free Software Foundation in the Charlotte Metrolina area, please let your interest be known on the mailing list or in a private e-mail to
