Welcome to the Charlotte GNU/Linux User Group (CharLUG) website.
We are a GNU/Linux User Group for folks of all levels of expertise...novice, hobbiest, somewhat experienced and professionally involved with GNU/Linux and Free/Open Source Software (F/OSS). One of our primary goals at CharLUG is helping people become acquainted with Linux and F/OSS and helping them learn as they discover what a great operating system Linux really is. If you have an interest in Linux and/or F/OSS and would like to help CharLUG continue to serve the Linux and Free/Open Software community in the Charlotte Metrolina area, please let your interest be known on the mailing list or in an private e-mail to
As our old meeting place at CPCC is under construction, we are also looking for a place to hold monthly meetings. The requirements are few: Available on Saturday mornings for a couple of hours, have internet access (wireless preferred) and able to accommodate 10 to 30 people. An overhead projector would be a bonus!
Thank you for your interest in Linux, Free/Open Software and CharLUG in particular.
For January ONLY we will be meeting at the Coffee Garden, at 10 AM on January the 3rd...
